One of the best movies ever made (favorite scene)

This is an excellent movie with such real performances all around. I feel Ellen Burstyn's performance is one of the best ever and I am very glad she won the Oscar for this. She brings drama, comedy, singing, etc to the silver screen. The movie is absolutely authentic and real. One of my favorite scenes in the film is when when she apologizes to the little old lady at the yard sale and gives her the shawl. With all Alice's problems, she does not forget her kindness. A GEM!!

matheachermike , I agree with you . It's an excelent movie . I got the feeling that a good movie depends on luck , some times . I keep watching it from time to time .

I've always enjoyed this film. I like character driven movies...movies about 'regular' folk just trying to make it in the world and this is one of the best in that genre.
