Oh, I love the car scene. I remember thinking I never saw a mother/son portrayed so realistically. That's Scorsese for ya. "What are ya, Helen Keller?" lol.
shareMe too. I just finished watching the film on Turner Classic movies. It was my first viewing of it and I really appreciated the authenticity of everything. I also find it very interesting that this film came between Mean Streets and Taxi Driver. Scorsese truly proved his range with this film.
