And even though age was less compressed back then, he was only 7 yrs her junior-- not really a "teenager" who was too young for her. Same scenerio happened on The MTM Show
I agree. When he lied about his age being 29, I initially thought he was lying to appear younger, not older than his actual age of 27. I love Harvey, but he looked his age, which was 35 or 36.
An actor like Brad Pitt from Thelma and Louise would've been more fitting.
Burstyn didn't look "35" as well (she looked her actual age).

It was 1974, but not long enough to make that much of a difference. My relatives in 1974 didn't look any older , but younger than their ages. Keital acted young, but it was iffy. I think what has changed more is the idea a 7 yr age-difference.
I thought he could have passed for 27 but then again I'm used to seeing only the old Keitel and so I was shocked at how young he was.

Ya i tuned in right when they were saying there ages and thought they were both lying. She was 41 and he 34. Both miscast.
