American Praising Hitler in Episode 1?
Does anyone know who the American man is praising Hitler in episode 1? I can't seem to find him in the credits, or anywhere else. Would love to know if anyone has the info.

shareThere were a lot of Americans (and I'm sure a lot of other nationalities) praising Hitler in the 1930's. Finding someone still alive in 1970 or so who would admit that they praised Hitler in the 1930's would be the tough part. I'll need to watch the episode again and see if I can help you out.

He is never identified and there is probably no information about him in the series' archives. He appears to be a 'man in the street' type interviewee. He was probably chosen at random by the person doing the interview. I think the point is to show the mixed view at the grass roots level. This is in the first few years of NSDAP (NAZI) control of Germany, before the concentration camps and before any of the territorial expansion. The economy of Germany was improving and the impact of the Nazis appeared to be beneficial. They had some distasteful notions about eugenics and so forth, but they were years from revealing themselves to be the monsters they were. That is the reason why many historians say to read books like "Mein Kampf."
We in the west should be reading whatever we can on the People's Republic of China, Russian, and Vladimir Putin. Russia and China are the real threats. We can handle the small countries much more easily.
