Nah, I think that Doc Baker relied on good customers like Charles, who were single handedly keeping him in business in that one horse town. But he probably still wanted to sock him one anyways :D

shareI recall Laura hating on him pretty hard one episode as well. And Albert hit him where it hurt the most, and was cutting heavily into his morphine profits 😃
I think I like Doc Baker the best on the show. He's smart and calm and generally doesn't get hysterical unlike the rest of the cast. There was his little foray into racism in the Dr. LeDoux episodes, but he got over that quickly.
shareYeah, ole doc wasn't so bad, along with Reverend Alden. The good Reverend was a regular in Gunsmoke, but he was hardly recognizable as the same guy in little house because he wasn't so darn fa, er, “horizontally challenged” 😉 Actually all kinds of the little house cast were in Gunsmoke; Ma, Ms Beadle, Hanson, Doc Baker, and I'm sure a few others that I missed.
Mr. Edwards was on Gunsmoke a lot mostly as a bad guy.
