Coming to MeTV

Just a quick FYI, starting in January, 2017, MeTV will air the series on Sunday night, 10 Eastern/9 Central. I haven't seen the show in ages, I'm looking forward to it.

Hell yeah, it's about time this classic series came back to haunt our airwaves. Long live Kolchak!

I have no idea why people get excited about seeing their favorite classic show on MeTV and other cut-rate re-reun networks.
1) They make cuts now. certain scenes are missing / trimmed. 2) The EXCRUCIATING and LENGTHY commercial breaks. UNBEARABLE. Like 10 minutes of some medical fraud device or shady legal offices.
3) The prints they show are always low-grade washed out and worn copies. 4) Some networks SPEED up the film time and the voices get higher--it's almost comical.
5) They "squish" the end credits.
Seriously- if you dig Carl & his monster hunting antics- cough up $29.99 for the DVD set. OK ?

All of your other complaints have merit, but I will give ME-TV credit for this - they always run the full closing theme full screen, and they never talk during it. They even once did a promo specifying that they always run the closing themes complete and with no talking.

I think it's more that it gives people who might not have watched Kolchak a chance to check it out and expose it to a wider audience, even if MeTV's actual ratings are minimal. It brings life to the board too I guess.

It's not $29.99 for the dvd set anymore. The re-release is cheaper yet (under $20 at Amazon) and is now 5 single-sided discs rather than the old 3 disc "flipper" set released about 12 years back.

Let us all join hands and shriek the sacred word in unison: "Kolchak!!" 

MeTV is strange. The Andy Griffith Show and The Twilight Zone episodes are not edited. But other shows like Star Trek are.

I remember when they used to show Cheers and the episodes were uncut. Now Cheers is back on Sunday nights and the episodes have been edited. It's weird.

Anyway, I mention this because I don't know if these Kolchak episodes are edited.

Someone who knows them completely would have to watch one and report back.
