Season 1 closing credits- what's so funny?

During the closing credits of season 1, the family is praying and then they dig in. I can't tell what is so funny about 3 seconds later?
Howard and Joanie seem to be laughing in Chucks direction and Richie isn't laughing like the others. Can anyone tell what is going on at the table?

So: a realistic, down to earth show..which is completely off the wall swarming with magic robots?!

I think they're all just laughing at the fact that they all grabbed so suddenly for the food after the prayer ended.

Chuck makes a quick remark about how much he loves his family, and how he wants to be around them forever; Howard and Joanie laugh at him, because they know he's soon going to be erased from existence; and Richie's sombre because he realises he's going to change from being the slightly quirky middle child to being the dull eldest son.

And Richie would be overshadowed by Fonzie and Fonzie would take over being his older brother.

I think it was just random laughter thrown in as part of the dinner conversation they were supposedly having. Maybe somebody said something funny. We'll never know since we can't hear what they're saying.

Tom and Erin have seen the first few scripts for season two and there's no mention of Chuck. They couldn't help it.

Chuck pauses to say something, then the laughter commences

It's supposed to depict a happy close knit family.

People who are used to recording will get this post. There is an edit in the theme song as it plays underneath these closing credits, just as they reach for the food. Between the lines "I'm gonna love her all I can" and the chorus "These days are ours" you hear the edit from the different drum takes they used. It comes out of that drum fill and it sounds a little awkward. I listened for years and didn't pick it up, but on the DVD it sticks out. Maybe because I quite a few episodes at once.

Listen hard enough and you'll spot it.
