I think it would have been interesting if the producers had gotten Andy Griffith and/or Don Knotts to make a guest appearance on this show. I am not sure what kind of part either of them would have played but that would have been amusing to see Griffith or Knotts interact with Ritchie, Fonzie, and the other characters. Any thoughts?

shareI thought about this many years ago when the show was on ABC. I know Frances Bavier was retired by then, by it would have been great if she just did a cameo.
shareIn the episode "Jailhouse Rock", Howard, Richie, Ralph and Potsie are in a jail cell with a drunk. I SO wanted the drunk to be played by Hal Smith (Otis on The Andy Griffith Show)! That would have been so fun! I wonder if they had asked him to do it but was unavailable?
sharethey did use howard sprague as ralphs dad. maybe they didn't want to pay up for the likes of andy or don.
