In the episode when Michael got suspeneded for calling Washington a racist why were jj and Thelma home from school so early or why were they not at school then? Wouldn't high school let out around the time Michael was supposed to get home?

I'm thinking it's because Thelma and JJ gets out of school early since they are in high school and Michael is in elementary and gets out later
