Looking for the TV Version

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone made any progress on the TV Version containing some extra scenes including the rack scene?

It has been discussed on here before and someone mentioned having it, I have tried messaging them but didn't hear anything back.

If anyone out there has it please get in touch, even if it is old media such as Betamax, I can help to have it transferred to DVD and preserved.

I have lots of rare stuff to trade if anyone can help.

Many thanks

I msgd the guy about the TV version of Westworld as well, but no response.. Any update on this?! It must be out there somewhere!

It's being very elusive...!

Still no luck with this I take it?

I'm afraid not, I was in touch with a guy who had it on Betamax but unfortunately he had to go into hospital. I was then speaking with his grandson but he looked for it andcouldn't find it - apparently a lot of his stuff was in a basement which got flooded.

Is that the guy who mentioned having it on here a few years ago? That's pretty gutting.....

Looks like the discussion thread is gone (stupid imdb board data dumps) and I'm kinda surprised deleted scenes haven't recently surfaced on You Tube since the new TV show's out.

My memory's fuzzy (and memory is an inexact science), but wasn't this like "Looker," where some enormous revelation solely existed in the TV cut? I could've sworn there was more of backstory to Yul Brenner's rampage than in the version I just watched. Admittedly, it's possible that I imagined that or am confusing it with the sequel or original TV spin-off (or maybe even one of the Stepford flicks!).

Usually someone adds a breakdown in the alternate versions section, but all it mentions is the rack scene - which was allegedly only in an early print. Movies on TV were 100 minutes back then and the theatrical version is 88 (plus I'm guessing the scene with Benjamin going to bed with the hooker got cut), so there must've been a helluva lot more filler in the network version than just the rack. It's really frustrating that folks with old videotapes are the only ones keeping this sorta stuff alive since the studios don't give a fork.

I had recorded it on audio cassette (long since gone, unfortunately) off TV in 1976 when it first aired. I do vividly recall the audio of the added scene of a guest being tortured on a rack when the robots go berserk. At first he panics and thinks it's some kind of joke as he gets dragged to the rack, but as he is stretched he begins to yell in pain.

I can't recall many other different sequences, but one that stands out is the gunslinger (Yul Brynner) turning around after dousing his face with water at the sink when it gets hit with acid. Maybe some more mayhem in Roman World.

Perhaps the best bet is to contact the studio directly.
