Two beers..maybe a goof or??

Try and remember this bit....
Katie is heading off somewhere.. it's dark.. Hubble is sitting outside a bar having a beer, and ' 'gets her to cross the road', "Have a beer" - waving his glass of beer at her , "No thanks, I don't drink", "Go on, just a taste"
So she has a sip of his beer .. then she holds on it it .. but he still has his glass.
No 2nd beer (for her) was ordered.. surely he hadn't ordered a beer for her just on the vague chance she would happen to be on that street at that time... So an error, or did I miss something?

I don't think this is a goof. Right before Katie accepts Hubbell's plea to cross the street, he says "One sip of beer." It's a close-up, and you can see several glasses lined up right beside him. It could be my imagination, but I heard a very faint trickling of liquid as Katie started to speak, apologizing to Hubbell that she let so much time go by before telling him she really liked his story. It's quite possible that Hubbell was pouring Katie a glass of beer while the camera was on her.

I thought maybe it was a two for one deal at the bar he was outside of, if they even had such thing's back in those days.

"You met me at a very strange time in my life"

I think that he gave her his beer, then moved to another chair and picked up and drank from another, partially-filled glass. I assumed that he'd been with friends who'd left; he doesn't seem the type to ever lack company.

Agree, or perhaps he kept ordering mugs and they just piled up, you could clearly see a few empty mugs nearby

He had several beers (empty) lined up when Streisand showed up. There was one beer untouched and the one he just drank, which was half done. As he was outside and the door to the bar closed (still open), I assume he just ordered one whole load for convenience to not always walk in and just enjoy outside.
