Help finding TV series

I've tried various horror websites and this is my last resort! Need help identifying 80s British TV series.
...Or at least I think it was British. All I remember is that each tale of terror (it was on weekly) was 2-5 minutes long (I think).
One memorable tale concerns either a man picking up a hitch-hiker or a taxi driver picking up a fare though I'm fairly sure it's the latter.
The person getting in his car is an old woman who we'd earlier seen putting a large carving knife in her bag. The short film ends with the car stopping at a set of traffic lights at night time - it may have been raining. As the camera zooms out the lights turn from red to green but chillingly, the car remains stationery!
Unfortunately, I can't remember any of the other stories but I'd be so grateful if someone might know the name of this series. Really want to track it down as a present from my brother who remembers it with equal fondness!
