All they do is tell the reason they are in the Vault? What's the torment in that?

1. They do in for all eternity, night after night.
2. They have to live with the pain and guilt of what they've done to other people. That might be just as bad.
3. No rest to speak of, just eternal painful memories.
I agree with the original post. They were smoking cigarettes and drinking scotch. Doesn't sound like hell to me?

That's probably what they were going for. Not a hell of fire and brimstones. Kind of like that TWILIGHT ZONE episode with the guy in the casino who's ALWAYS winning money to the point he gets bored.
It's probably wrong of me, but I was actually rooting for Tom Baker's character.
