Any good?

I've never seen the movie and I'm thinking about buying it on dvd and I was wondering if it was any good? I've seen bits and pieces of it on youtube and the part that makes me want to see it is Vincent Price playing the hairdresser Butch.

It's Shakespeare with a bit of Gran Guignol and a large helping of black comedy, and it's a who's who of British character actor royalty.

I'm rather fond of it, but only you can decide if it's your cup of tea.

Personally I love this movie, if you enjoy old horror films, or like any of Vincent Price's horror movies with a comedy slant such as The Raven, The Abomindable Dr. Phibes, etc, you will probably like this.

Fairly gory, but very entertaining, with some great flowery dialogue and one of Price's finest performances.

Thanks a lot for the input I just might have to check it out.

It is one of my favorite Vincent Price movies. I bought the DVD that has this movie and The Madhouse also with Vincent Price.

I just saw it for the first time yesterday (I'm 45) and I loved it, 9/10--but it's probably not for everyone. I love Vincent Price, British-styled horror-comedies, and Diana Rigg does such great death scenes.

Theatre of Blood, Witchfinder General and The Abominable Dr Phibes are Vincent Price's best movies IMO. If you're a fan of old-school horror it's well worth adding to your movie collection.
