Woody Allen's best film
You know it, I know it!
It's the only Woody Allen movie that doesn't cure my insomnia. It's not as pretentious as most of his contemporary films either.

agree absolutely. just perfect.
shareWoody had at least 3 totally hilarious films: "Bananas", "Sleeper" and "Love and Death". Hard to say which was funniest, it's kind of like the Marx Brothers' streak of "Monkey Business", "Horse Feathers" and "Duck Soup". But "Sleeper" did seem to have the most one-liners.
shareNah, for me, it's easy. "Love and Death" is the funniest, even his funniest film ever. You could tell that "Bananas" and "Sleeper" were both leading up to something like "Love and Death", which is perfect from beginning to end.
"Darth Vader is scary and I The Godfather"
I concur completely!
I remember watching a whole raft of late 60s, early 70s Allen films back in the 80s, and I enjoyed all of them immensely, but "Sleeper" stood out most of all.
However, 30 years on and re-watching those same films again, I realise how "Sleeper" hasn't quite stood the test of time, compared to say "Love & Death", which now takes the crown for my favourite Woody film for that particular Allen era.

those 3 really are funny. his best.
