Can somebody explain the story?
I came in about halfway through the movie, and I had no idea what was going on. Everything just seemed really depressing and hopeless.

Its about kidnapping ring. Two hoods kidnap mafia members and hold them for ransom. It's a smart idea because gangsters aren't going to call the cops for help, right? So they have no choice but to pay the ransom to get their "Family" members back. Eventually the police find out that something is wrong and they dig deeper into this conspiracy.
