shareHe's a master filmmaker. That being said, 3-4 weeks, and it was all shot in reverse order, and there's a lot of actors and scenes, too. Seems like it'd be a headache to make and would take a while but it was completed in record time for only a cool million and it was a box office success. A groundbreaking, unique, dark, brilliant, cheaply- and quickly-made film being a box office success? That's amazing.

Shuji Terayama forever.
Today a million dollars is bird seed. Big name actors can rate $10M to $20M just for their salary alone.
shareCan you post the interview? Is it on youtube?
Religion should be made fun of. If I believed that stuff, I'd keep it to myself. -Larry David
Lumet only wants few takes for each scene and always rehearses with his actors for preparations. No surprise there.

I saw it. A thing that was cold and dry. It was me. - La Belle Noiseuse
Everyone must have taken a page from Olivier and "Just act(ed), dear boy!"
shareNot unusual for films to be shot in that time in the 1960s and 1970s. It is only epics and Kubrick films that took their time.
It's that man again!!
No pun intended to Serpico himself, right?
