Great dream dialogue. Makes me think every time I hear it.

Both hallucinations freaked me out when I was a kid and first saw this movie. They really got to me, him seeing his dead friends, and then facing the judge. Such imagery. And that's why I love this movie.

Yeah I had no idea what I was in for when I saw this last night. I thought it was going to be another typical prison escape movie with some action and thrills. It was so much more than that. Very philosophical and thought provoking. Those dream sequences were frickin' great!

This scene reminds me of my mother and her husband: two weak pitiful cowardly creatures defeated by life and who gave up on their dreams too soon and too easily--two lives of disillusionment and hopelessness and despair that were truly and totally wasted.

Thank you for sharing, Tennessee Williams.

That is so true: my parental units seem to have risen from a Tennessee Williams play. My mother even has the same sad lost eyes of Vivien Leigh in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE.
