Can you movie buffs identify this movie??

I don't know where to ask this question so I'm writing it in the Papillon forum. I'm looking for an old prison movie I saw 15+ years ago:

In one scene, the guards tell the prisoner that his wife is coming to visit so he showers, shaves, and cleans up. It turns out the officers were just playing a joke on him and the wife never shows up. In another scene (I might be confusing this with another movie,) a redhead middle-aged skinny bearded man at a train station hides inside a coffin with a dead cat to trick people to think he's dead. At the end of the movie, the prisoner escapes prison during winter and when rescue teams search for him, he hides under the snow. Can anyone identify this movie?? Please help IMDBers!

Sounds like Donald Sutherland in the 1978 movie, The Great Train Robbery.
