FINALLY!!! The 'Paper Moon' DVD (in August '03)

If you have not seen Paper Moon, you owe it to yourself to either rent or buy the DVD when they release it in August, or find a VHS copy of it somewhere or keep your eyes peeled whilst perusing the cable listings. I think this is Bogdanovich's best film. Tatum O'Neal won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, and the reasons are evident: She's a Natural. Everything about this movie is superb....Writing, Acting, Cinematography, Score......etc....

I don't know this for a fact, but it looks as though they are foregoing the 'deluxe treatment' for the DVD. This is a sin and a shame. Paper Moon should be accompanied by (at the VERY least) a 'making-of' documentary, interviews with the actors and other filmmakers, and an in-depth commentary by Bogdanovich.

If you haven't seen this film, SEE THIS FILM ! ! !

I agree. Saw it in '73 and loved it. Have it recorded from TV and everytime I am in a Paper Moon mood I watch the whole thing again. Tatum gives possibly the best performance by anyone under 20 that I have seen including Shirley. It is Ryan's best film, Madeline Kahn is wonderfully obnoxious as Trixie Delight and Imogene is equally funny. One truly great film. It shows what times were like in the depression and what you had to do in the south to just survive.

I absolutely adore this movie. My brother bought me the DVD for Christmas and I was so happy!!!

I know I'd just be echoing everyone, I definitely agree.

I'm sure at some point they'll change their mind on a special edition DVD. If they can make 3 different editions of "Jaws" and 3 different editions of "Wizard of Oz," they can definitely make one special edition for "Paper Moon."

I have loved this movie ever since it first came out! It is definitely among my top all-time faves as it is so incredibly timeless. My family comes from Kansas during that same era so there is a sense of a kindred spirit, I suppose. I have also always appreciated Tatum O'Neal and her performance here is STILL incredible. She was/is so believable and enjoyable to watch.
This is one movie I can watch any time and 30+ years later refer to for great one-liners.
