Beware of a Holy Whore

I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned Rainer W. Fassbinder's Beware of a Holy Whore. Fassbinder's film was made 2 years earlier and is extremely similar to Day for Night. It makes me wonder what Truffaut thought of Fassbinder and if Beware of a Holy Whore inspired this movie in any way.

I'm not an expert on film making but I would assume that from the time a film maker has an idea of a film and its actual release, a considerable amount of time( years ) has passed, so I doubt that Fassbinder's BOAHW was in any way influential in Truffaut's film.
