I have a question about this film

I have been searching for a film from this era for years. IN it, the woman is a bag of nerves, and thinks she is going crazy. I cant remember whether its her husband and (possibly) his mistress who are making her think that. There is a scene in the film I am thinking of, where the woman looks at the creepy abandoned house across the street and see's (possibly) her husband and the mistress sitting on a chair pretending to be dead with red rope or lace or wire around their necks to pretend to be blood. Is this the film that I am thinking of or can anybody help me with the title.

Probably this is the film you saw, but that escene doesn't appear in the film. In this film Elizabeth Taylor believes that she've seen a dead man in the window of her creepy neighborg's house, later she saw again a dead woman, but nobody believes her. In the film there is in the air the idea that Lawrence Harvey (her husband) and Willie Whitelaw (her best friends) are doing gaslight to her but till the end we don't know if that is what is really happening or if is all in the imagination of Taylor.

Wrong, everybody else believes that Elizabeth Taylor believes that she's seen a dead person in the window... which is something entirely different.
