When Deniro walks in with the sounds of Jumping Jack Flash playing. Well, it simply is the greatest character entrance of all time and it also signifies his entrance to the movie biz.

Johnny Boy's very first scene, where he blows up the mailbox for no reason, is also one of the greatest character introductions of all time.

The memorable bar entrance, however, is indeed legendary. It's simply one of the coolest scenes ever filmed.

John Woo did a great tribute to it in 'A Better Tomorrow' (1986). Worth a watch if you're a fan of Scorsese and 'Mean Streets'. You can see the influence he had on Woo.

Vinnie Jones did a tribute of sorts with his entrance in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
