I Don't Understand

people bagging this film. Considering when it came out, the kinds of movies that were being shown at the time, what the film-maker was trying to do (capture the feeling of the streets he grew up in), even with all of its roughness, it's still a masterpiece. It's fascinating watching these guys interact, listening to their conversations, seeing how they spend their time ... it's not meant to be Jurassic Park, Twilight or Transformers.

I like a bunch of Marty's films (not a fan of all). Goodfellas is on my list of favourite films ever. I even own Hugo on blu-ray, but I would burn a thousand copies of Hugo in return for one copy of Mean Streets on DVD.

'Then' and 'than' are different words - stop confusing them.

I'm not a big fan of Scorsese, but I feel that this is the best thing he ever did, followed closely by ' Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore '.

By the way, I think what might be the most impressive thing about Martin Scorsese, is his encyclopedic knowledge of film and popular music. I'd love to have even 10% of his knowledge in those categories.

I echo your words.

Mean Streets might be a dull and pointless film to some, but to me it's about as fascinating as any film I've ever seen. That said, I guess I can understand why some people are unable to appreciate and/or enjoy this film.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!
