shareLt. Briggs did, but the sad part about this film is the fact that Harry was seriously trying to arrest his fellow officers and bring them to justice. The people that the vigilantes "murdered" had it coming. Harry should have joined them. Only bad thing about the rogue officers was the fact that they killed McCoy, Early, and tried to kill Harry.

But that's just the start. As Harry says, If you get away with that then eventually you wind up shooting people for spitting on the sidewalk.
Sweets death was not intentional. While he did become 'sacrificed', Briggs' main focus was to have Harry eliminated in the chaos.
Briggs was doing what we had to do in order to advance the cause and unfortunately for him, lost one of his most important soldiers. But as he said to Harry at the end of the film - "there are plenty more where they came from".
Only bad thing about the rogue officers was the fact that they killed McCoy, Early, and tried to kill Harry. So those were 'the only bad things' they did. Huh??? They KILLED 2 innocent police officers and tried to kill a third. Now let's follow this logic:
They tried to kill Harry, too.....did he "have it coming"?
