What was up with the scene where he's "visiting" Charlie McCoy's wife? When she started putting the moves on him, I thought WTF?! I never thought Clint was the kind of guy who'd.. see title. What's up with that?
Even if he wasn't doing detective work. The fact that Charlie seemed pretty damn unglued in the parking lot probably worried him. He gets a free meal, and can find out about an old friend if he's really messed up as he seemed. Which his ex confirmed when she said he started playing russian roulette with his revolver the last time she saw him.

I got the definite impression that Harry had been friends with both of them while they were still together, and also the kids called him "Uncle Harry" and seemed to like him. Seeing Charlie getting all frazzled made Harry think of talking to her, so he was working the case as well as looking in on the family he'd known when they were still together. No reason it had to be one or the other.
She seemed lonely and needy and made the move on Harry.
What's more weird is I was watching an episode of The Rifleman and saw a very beautiful woman in the show and she looked familiar and it turned out it was Christine White! We're talking 12 years after she's in Magnum Force and she looked well....rough?
It seemed Harry was there for dinner, company, and to talk about Charlie. I don't think he was expecting her to hit on him.
She was 40 or 41 when this movie was made. Forty years ago, 40 year old women didn't tend to look like they do today, what with Botox, widespread use of facial surgery, etc.
