SPOILERS!!....... Now about those kids....

So if Olivia Hussey was supposed to be about 300 years old, does that make the kids that sang, danced and rolled down the hillside with Liv and Bobby about 150?? And another thing.. if they WERE 150 years old, why were they still at school? Shouldn't they be teaching Liv?...... Question me an answer indeed!!!!

That's a pretty big IF, Nathan.
Do you believe no one sexually reproduces in Shangri-La any more?
Maybe they really were of school age. WOW! Never considered that!!

can you answer a few questions about this movie?

If the adults, presumably many of whom are 100+ years old, are still having children, it would be a disaster. Shangri-La would soon become more crowded than the world's most populous cities.

Having school-age children there made no sense, and was just added for the movie. If I remember the book, there were no children in Shangri-La.

In the book it is explained that the longevity-giving quality of the Valley of the Blue Moon only happens with some foreigners. The actual natives live long, healthy lives -but not significantly longer than anywhere else in the world. "Shangri-La" is the lamasery, not the entire place...

So -The kids in the film are kids, and children do appear in the original novel.

Kinda interesting question.. Maybe there, people are like some mediums say about the other side.. That if you are young and you pass over, you grow up until you are 30 years old and then once you hit 30, you stay 30 for eternity???

Right... So my meaning would be that you are whatever age when you get there, and grow until you hit age 30 and stay 30.. Unless you get there and are older and you stay the same age as when you got there (being you are older than 30), and if you arrived there before hitting 30, you age until you hit 30 and stay 30..

I just watched my video copy of it (taped it off TNT eons ago, probably in the 1990's).. I was thinking about this age thing while watching it, and it kinda makes sense... Speaking of the video... I really hope but am not holding my breath (even though alot of garbage is on DVD) for them to release it... My tape ends when he comes back after being found and is in the hospital... He sees the stick, and that's where the tape ends...

I mean there was alot of flack when this was released because of how great the origional was, but this is differant.. It's a guilty pleasure.. The one thing though.. I'm not a fan of Sally Kellerman, although she has a nice singing voice... The reason I saw it as a kid and loved it ever since, was from being a huge Bobby Van fan...
