The Songs

As much as I disliked this movie, there were three songs in it that I really liked. "I Might Frighten Her Away" was an internal duet between Finch and Ullmann that I used to sing with a friend of mine in high school as well as "The Things I Will Not Miss" the duet with Hussey and Kellerman. There was a song that was cut from the final print of the film called "Where Knowledge Ends, Faith Begins" that has very inspirational lyrics. I still sing in this song in church on occasion.

I like the songs very much. Movie may be a bore, but music and lyrics are lovely.

Searching for Shawn Phillips's performances on youtube, I came across one: the opening credit song from this film. It isn't amongst Shawn's credits here on IMDB.com.

Should I add my 'knowledge'...my find?

Back in the 70s, I was so obsessed with Shawn's music, I was hearing it in my dreams. One night, my parents were in another room, and the theme song started playing to this movie. I recognized his voice right away...everyone sighed in disgust, saying that I thought EVERYONE was Shawn Phillips! Well, I watched the whole awful movie, just to get to the credits to prove I wasn't crazy! I used to visit him backstage when he performed locally, and this was my favorite story to tell him
It remains the only reason I ever tune in to this movie...when the opening scenes are over...I shut it off!
