New DVD issue after Altman's death

Far be it from me to want to sound glib or insensitive, as I was gutted about Altman's death, but it could possibly mean that those Hollywood parasites will finally release a decent DVD of this incredible movie.

I can just imagine "The Altman Collection" or a slew "Ultimate Altman Editions" of his movies...

This movie is one of the greatest American films ever made. In an ideal world, Criterion would acquire the rights and deliver a DVD issue worthy of this masterpiece. Failing that, surely MGM must be planning something for it...?

If anyone knows or hears anything about this let me know.

What's wrong with the current DVD version? I'd rather see some of his films that have yet to make it to DVD.

'The Sound of Music' twice an hour, and 'Jaws' 1, 2 and 3.

Well, a few good extras would be nice.

I don't know how many worthwhile extras they're likely to come up with for a 30-year-old movie. I'd rather have a cheap disc with a good transfer, which this is, plus it has a good American Cinematographer article and, as I recall, a decent documentary.

Oh, I see. The Region 1 disc has extras :D My Region 2 one has nothing.

Even so, you've got the movie. That's the good part. I bought a Region 2 version of "Thieves Like Us" because it was the only DVD I could find.
