No Top 250?

This movie is really great, Sterling Hayden's best performance and all of the cast's improvisations and the whole meditation on the 40s butting heads with the 70s was really interesting. I liked the washed out cinematography in this movie, it sort of puts you in Marlowe's haze. The end is phenomenal. A perfect movie if I ever saw one. RIP Robert Altman.

There aren't enough explosions or disembowelings for this to be in the IMDB Top 250.

Just cut them up like regular chickens.

There's a lot of sludge in there these days, V For Vendetta? That movie sucked.

I agree. I'm more of a fan of modern movies myself, but this film really surprised me. From the first scene, Gould's nonchalant manner grabbed me, and my eyes were glued to the screen through the whole flick. The story was engrossing, and the ending was great. Definitely on my top 10.

Never mind the top 250, this movie is in my top ten, and I'm a hardened cynical cineaste. One of the very best American movies ever made!!!

But it is true, this would never make the top 250. Subtlety, character study, metaphor, satire, bleak humour, one of the original movie anti-heroes; these are not things that win the acclaim of the largely ignorant public.

Like someone said above, V for Vendetta is in the top 250?!? What up with that?!? Click on my profile to read what I thought of that movie.

Agreed, Systematicer. The IMDB top 250 means nothing. We should find a better list to complain about
