that was scene was brutal. Altman was crazy.

Mark Rydell was genuinely terrifying as the volatile and neurotic Marty Augustine. That particular scene was truly shocking and brutal.

Yeah, I was so disturbed. I love this film, but the brutality makes me reluctant to see it again.

Maybe I'm simply an old man.

I remember that scene in the theater; I was about 6 years old and couldn't comprehend it at the time, as he wasn't really mad at the woman, so to me, it came out of nowhere.
