So which character did David Carradine play?

IMDB lists him in the cast playing "Socrates", but I didn't notice him in the movie and this name doesn't ring a bell. Does anyone know where he appeared in the movie?

He's in a "blink and you'll miss him" cameo in the brief prison cell scene. He's going on about "possession of noses, possession of gonads..." etc right before they let Gould out of the cell.
