made my own cut...

Not saying it's better LOL I just like this one better. I took out the two scenes with the jewish gangster (hated the violence in the first scene and the ridiculousness of them in their underwear in the later one. Maybe because it's NOW but Arnold looks STUPID and distracting lol) and all dialogue referencing it. I also cut out him chasing her down and being hit by the car.

After Marlowe and Wade have their talk it fades into the party later on when the dr arrives.

Now after the beach suicide marlowe goes home, opens the letter with the 5000$ and decides to take a trip to mexico. The money makes more sense with the other parts but I think that side plot is unnecessary and shouldn't have been added...so I'm just gonna assume it's a smack in the face to marlowe, possibly a 'real apology of sorts, or a subtle clue terry's still alive (cuz he's been dead long enough to not be able to have sent it)...

NOW the 1st mexico scene in merged with the second (it's obvious they're part of the same scene. (laughably so to be honest). It stops at the scene change when the guards say he is still alive and then cuts to marlowe walking. Instead, after the cops say he's still alive, he leaves and goes to Eileen's house to find no one there. Marlowe goes back to his apartment and tells the girls he'll be gone and to feed the cat, then after the fade and his bus arrives, we pick up the scene with marlowe going to actually find terry. Remove all the gangster/money bits of dialogue here and he basically shoots him for just being the POS that he is.

I don't like the coke bottle scene. I get it, But to me it works against the movie and just took me out of it. One of the most shocking things I've seen in a mainstream movie. It actually works for a split second but the blood is overkill. It's too much, kills the flow of the movie.

Once I took that stuff out - the movie was breezier and marlowe funnier to be honest. I was starting to see why people think it's 'funny'. Everything else still has the same effect.

So there, very easy to do (the two scenes of dialogue that need fixing are on the beach with marlowe and wade and the dinner scene before the suicide between eileen and marlowe).

Easy to do, try it and tell me what y'all think.
