Opening 'Hollywood' Music Question

On the radio at the very start of the film you get a very very old song repeating the word "hollywood" and then it transitions into a more (then) contemporary style of music. I was wondering if anyone knows the title of the song if not the performer and year of it's recording as well. I would pop it in and check the credits myself if it were available to me but unfortunately it isn't.

The same Dick Powell who played Marlowe in 'Murder, My Sweet', back in the 40s. Weird, huh?

It's an ENGLISH accent, not BRITISH! Join the crusade, Brits!

The name of the song is "Hooray for Hollywood" - it's also featured in Christopher Guest's "For Your Consideration." I couldn't tell you the performer.

The main singer is Johnny "Scat" Davis. It is from the movie "Hollywood Hotel."

The female singer is NOT Ethel Merman.
It's Frances Langford.

I think the user was referring to the recording in the end of the film.

SOUNDS like Ethel Merman to me.
