Comparinig it to Life on Mars

I saw this movie for the first time last night. It was interesting looking at the technology, furnishings, cars and dress forthe old days.

One thing real interesting is how in modern police proceedurals, the police rely heavily on technological evidence whearas in those days, maybe they had a fingerprint or two and relied mostly on "hitting the streets."

And they definitely were a lot less "politically correct" in those days, though given the recurrent sodomy scandals in the NYPD, I am not sure it has gotten 100% better (maybe 80% or so).

Anyway, I was comparing this movie to "Life on Mars". Things have changed, haven't they?

They certainly have. TLP is a time capsule to another era, long before CSI, when cops got what it took to capture the villains, whether by hook or crook.
