I could see Jason Statham play a wittier, more pumped-up version of Jake Martin and if this film was to be relocated in Britain, then someone like Danny Dyer would be Larsen.
Paul Bettany would probably fit into the role of Camerero.

shareActually, until we got the motive (which kind of dates the movie), I was thinking a superior remake could be done with a mustachioed Bruce Willis in the Walter Matthau role and maybe Melinda McGraw as his wife, since I thought the last few minutes were the superior part of the movie.
