Criterion possibility? Blu Ray?

How far fetched would it be for this film to get a Blu Ray release? I know the only Ashby film on BR right now is Being There. But what are the chances of say, the Criterion Collection getting the rights to do an updated edition on this gem?

I don't think its far fetched at all. I just watched it in HD streaming on Netflix. Since they have HD streaming I'm suprised there isn't a Blu-Ray.

I think this movie is perfect for a Criterion Blu Ray release. I'm surprised Hal Ashby has no love from Criterion, how is he not represented in Criterion? I want Last Detail on Blu Ray!

Yea I know, I posted that a year ago...they FINALLY came out with Harold and Maude. I would like The Last Detail, though!

This would be an incredible choice for the Criterion Collection. They've already released 5 Sony-owned Nicholson films in a boxset (Head, Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces, A Safe Place and The King of Marvin Gardens).

TLD came out in that same period.

It's coming to Blu-ray on region A from Twilight Time on January 19, 2016 along with another Hal Ashby 70s classic Bound for Glory. I can't wait to own both.

Yes I totally agree that this needs to be on Blu Ray part of the criterion collection!
This is an excellent movie with great performances by all. Loved how it showed a dreary cold early 70's landscape in the U.S (yes I know Canada too) which I think was sort of a character in itself in the story. Great musical score too. All of Nicholson's early stuff should be on bluray! But this is my favorite!
