How much of this film
was filmed in Toronto?

So this is how liberty dies-with thunderous applause?

some shots are in Union Station (before it was remodelled)..I believe the fight with the Marines in the train station washroom is one
...the confrontation with the bartender ("I am the *beep* shore patrol!") was shot at the old Spadina Hotel (now a hostel at the corner of King and Spadina)

That I dont know..you can see Toronto Second City players Gilda Radner and Derek McGrath in the chanting scene, but I'm not sure where it was filmed.

I think you are confused about what "on location" means. In general, it means "not in a studio". So if a scene is shot in an actual restaurant, that would be "on location" even if they put in their own signage or whatever to change the name of the restaurant from what it is in real life, and maybe in the context of the film it's in an entirely different city (or even a different country) from where it actually is, that doesn't matter; the scene is still shot "on location" because it was not a set constructed in a film studio.

Actually the first 10 minutes or so was shot at CFB Borden during Easter or May long weekend 1973. I was there at the time.

Always understood that the Navy Base scene was shot in the Toronto area. And that they were going to film more scenes in D.C but were refused permission to shoot on the steps of the Capital building or maybe it was the Lincoln memorial. I think the only D.C scene shot was the SP bar scene.

As stated earlier, the SP bar scene was filmed in Toronto at the Spadina Hotel (for years they had a sheet of plexiglass over the dent Nicholson made in the wooden bar when he slammed down his gun)

According to the website, "The Movie District," the exterior of the bar scene was filmed on 14th St. in DC. Then they cut in the interior bar scene filmed in Toronto.
