I miss the days when food was actually eaten in films...

There are some great scenes in this movie where the characters are enjoying a meal; something which seems to be missing from most modern cinema, today. Nowadays, a plate of food is just another perfectly oriented prop that the characters never touch. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine. haha
I appreciate 70's cinema for a variety of reasons, but a minor one is that the actors actually ate their food in those types of scenes! Makes the atmosphere feel more believable.
(can also make you hungry while watching) :)

Ah. Well, what can I say?

I agree completely!

By the way, I'm a fan of much earlier films featuring diners. I enjoy viewing signs which say, amongst many other things, "ham and eggs, $0.35" or "a full plate of beans -- ten cents."

Haha....yeah, that's always interesting.
Gas prices in old movies blow my mind, too. 12 cents per gallon? Where's the time machine!

Yeah.

Probably not the great old memories for any actor that had to eat ice cream in a movie.Since the lights melted ice cream with in minutes, mashed potatoes were used as a substitute. Can you imagine licking a mashed potato cone? LOL

I'd resent that if I were sober. 

It is rare to see people actually eating in films these days.

It's that man again!!

Agreed! There is a great chicken eating scene in Scarecrow (1973). Only in the '70s...
