Quick Question
Quick question they seemed to skip alot n the movie how come they never showed Jesus in the desert while being tempted by satan? That would b a good song. Was it because of the budget?

shareThe temptation was never in the stave or movie version. I don't think andrew lloyd webber intended to include it.
shareThe musical was intended to show the last week of Jesus' life starting with the entry into Jerusalem. The temptation scene was not in the original Webber/Rice version.

That *would* be a really cool song.

I thought Jesus was tempted in the desert before he begin his ministry...this takes place about 3 years later.
shareIt *is* a good song. It was scrapped before the show was first performed, but a band picked it up and made it their own. Here it is:

Obviously not ALW.
sharealso, the movie/musical is about Jesus as a man, with real things happening. the slight problem with the devil issue is that he doesn't exist.
but that's just me.
Yeah, but not necessarily that he doesn't exist, just that he's too mystical to put into such a realistic portrayal. Also, the presence of Satan would detract from the real stuggle, which is within Jesus himself, doubting his death and his role in the grand scheme of things.
"Doesn't that suck? I just hit you for no reason. I don't even know why."
