It's out now. I went out and got it today. (wide screen).
shareI just rented the DVD today. Quality is not great, the soundtrack is pretty scratchy. And, unfortunately it's 4x3 format, except for the section with the titles which is widescreen. It's obvious in places that quite a bit has been chopped off the sides to fit 4x3. Quality-wise, it doesn't seem anywhere near as good as Leone's 1960's Westerns. Anyone know why?
Still an excellent movie though. I'll be watching it again. :)

sean_mcg...I don't know what you rented or where you rented it... The Region 1 Disc put out by Image Entertainment is 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen and the print is in great shape.

Hmm, that's a bit of a worry. The one I watched was rented from a reputable video/DVD rental chain. But, it did seem to have been made from a worn videotape. I think I'll go back to the shop and check that it was in fact a legal copy. Although it's possible that a 'rush-job' was done on it a few years back, prior to doing it properly recently. Three guesses where I'll ram it if I discover someone's renting-out a pirated copy made from a videotape. :(
shareIf you have UseNet access, copies have recently been posted, both an NTSC and a PAL copy. From what I understand, the PAL copy is the better of the two.
