Ennio Morricone - My Name Is Nobody

I've yet to actually watch this movie but I was at a gig during Glasgow Film Festival where they played only Morricone tracks and the title track for this movie was the standout.

I absolutely adore this tune. It's on my MP3 every day as I walk to work in the early morning. The sun is just beginnig to creep through the high rise building in the east of the city as I look down Great Western road and the playfulness of this track brings a great big smile to my face as the rays begin wash away the sleep.

You can watch this gig on youtube in fact. Just search for Mondo Morricone Glasgow.

Best gig I've been to this year.

I recently watched this (I find Morricone to be one of, if not, the very best at musical scores) and had to laugh at parts of the soundtrack (this is obviously a comedy - btw) and Morricone incorporated Wagner's Ride of The Valkyries and I swear I picked out a very slight variation to Frank Sinatra's 'Wy Way' being used.
Movie was OK not a classic but certainly entertaining, someone had uploaded it to youtube.

I absolutely agree that Morricone is the best. No one sets the tone and the mood for a movie better. "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" score has become synonymous with the Western in general, and the score for "Once Upon A Time In The West" is a masterpiece. Its sheer genius the way Morricone assigned each of the four main characters a special melody. In "Once Upon A Time In America", his use of Zamfir is haunting.

Yes, "My Name Is Nobody" is tongue-in-cheek and very entertaining. Not one of Sergio Leone's best, but contains many great parts and story elements nonetheless. (I love the part where Fonda fires three shots so fast they sound as one).
