...commit suicide? I didn't see them as depressed at all. Marcello seemed to have the perfect life as a handsome pilot with lottsa stewardesses hanging on to him.

Marcello's death seemed to be an unexpected occurrence since he was leaving. Ugo and Phillepe were definitely suicides.

It was a great film none the less about male menopause.

Marcelo need not have frozen to death so he chose to die. He wanted to die because his erection failed and in his easy, venal life not being able to f/cl would be a living death.

I think Michel committed suicide by continuing eat lots of rich food even though it was congesting his gut leading to mighty flatulence.
