only 1 reason to get this movie, Gigan!

he roolz. lol. no seriously hes my fav monster and i like him the way he looks in this movie and in 'godzilla vs gigan' much better than in 'godzilla final wars'. even tho he looks all badass and robotic in GFW, the old school gigan look is better, bc i rememeber when i 1st saw this, i was like "what the hell is that thing?" some ppl said he was a robot, some tv guides and movie review books i have say hes a giant chicken(lol), no one would really be sure. that added to his greatness, the mystery. well in GFW its obvious hes a robot, but i like his 70s look much more... sorta like maybe hes half alien half machine, pure evil! go gigan!

As a Spectreman and Ultraman fan in childhood, I liked Jet Jaguar. To me, he was the best part of the movie.

I don't agree with that, but I do like Gigan in it (but they all are good together in this movie, as they were in Godzilla vs. Gigan the following year). I do remembering seeing this movie at the PIX in Rock Hill, SC one summer afternoon in 1976 when it was first released here. I was 8, my sister was 5, and we and our mother went with a maternal cousin in his car. We then went with him to the CINEMA the following summer (August, 1977) to see Godzilla vs. Gigan. I was a very big Godzilla fan then, and this has continued, but really liked going to these two movies then, and did see them on TV later, and then on our VCR in the late 1980s/early 1990s. They both are on my contenders for 100 favorite movies of all time list now, and I do hope to see them, and other Godzilla movies, on DVD as soon as get the chance now. But Godzilla vs. Megalon and Godzilla vs. Gigan will always be linked for me because of their similarity (tag team good and evil monster duos), and also that I saw them one year apart in those theaters (hey, they are sort of like Open Water and Red Eye are for me now, thirty years later!).

Gigan rules, plain and simple.

I personally think Megalon is a great monster. He's my favorite. Don't get me wrong, I like Gigan, and that is definitely another reason to get this movie, but not the ONLY one.

It's not pink! It's lightish red!

Well Gigan and Megalon are counterparts of sorts: both have weapons for arms, both are enigmatic in terms of what kind of creature they are, etc. Good team.

Gigan did kick ass, didn't he? He was the first monster to draw Godzilla's blood if I'm not mistaken.

Altho Gigan does indeed kick ass, he mustve led a very frustrating life with hands like those. I mean how'd the dude ever drink a cup of tea with those ?!
Still i think saw in his belly more than makes up for that. People would be like, " Dude you wanna cup of tea...uh...oh yea...your hands...sorry 'bout that, i wasn't thinkin' " and he'd just see red and would flip out and buzz saw the mofos.
Thats worth all the tea in feckin China. To see that happen i mean.

There's nothing enigmatic about what Megalon is. Jun Fukuda said Megalon is a rhinoceros beetle. And well, they do look like Megalon.
