What did you learn from 'Eddie Coyle'?
I learned that I should always listen to my mother and never, ever, go to hockey games.
shareI learned that I should always listen to my mother and never, ever, go to hockey games.
shareThat Hollywood should get back to making dialogue-rich, character-driven movies and retire the "overplayed, formulaic, same old CG effects crap" before we reach the point of not being able to come back!
shareI'm afraid it's already too late.....
shareGetting caught selling machine guns will get you life.
Not every career criminal retires to Miami
This life is hard and it's even harder if you're stupid
Broken hands hurt like a bastard
The 70's would cease to be without Alex Rocco's unibrow
Steven Keats should have held out a few years more until Tarrentino was in charge of Hollywood and could revive his career.
You hit the last two right on the nose. The trouble for Keats was that Jackie Brown was so memorable a character, everybody wanted him to play ONLY Jackie Brown.
shareThanks. Richard Jordan was (and still is) overlooked. His perfomance in this flick in monumental.
shareRichard Jordan was one of my favorite actors because he could nail so many different characters and refused to be categorized and stuck in one type. If he didn't like the film roles he was getting, he just went off and did theatre. As he got older, they stuck him with the villain tag a lot, but at least his villains varied, from sick maniacs to cartoon nasties to slimy sleezeballs. But then his last role was a Civil War hero to break your heart. The man had range.
shareSpot on with all your remarks. Glad there is someone out there who knows a hidden gem when they see one. Hats off!
shareMaybe Hollywood can have a separate category at the Oscars: "Best Picture That is a Real Movie"
shareTotally agree, but it probably agree that it is too late for Hollywood to learn anything from this movie.
share"Lock it (the car), Keeps the Volunteers out."
shareThe the lack of sentiment in real life situations can be applied to filmmaking with impressive results
shareI learned 3 things.
1. Never ask a man why he's in a hurry.
2. Listen to your mother.
3. Wanda will come off like electricity.
It's OK to plop your plump middle aged wife in the morning.
