Not that the timing is any better than the previous showings in the past three years but the fact that TCM continues to show the film is a sign of its recognition for this very fine foreign classic. Thank you TCM.

I wish TCM also started to show ¨Cría Cuervos¨ (Raise Ravens), where Ana Torrent also stars as a child two years older than her age performance in The Spirit of the Beehive. I am sure TCM would show it if enough viewers request the film. Check it out and request it if it is of your interest. I haven´t seen the film in ages but the child performance is also something to remember and the song ¨Por qué te vas?¨ (Why do you leave?) is addictive.
