Final scene in US version is trimmed

There's a minute difference between the US DVD version and the UK VHS version in the final scene wher Robert Blake is shot. In the UK version there is an extra sideways shot of the exit wound of the shotgun blast through Blake's leather jacket.

That's the "cut" that William Guercio refers to that he had to edit out due to the scene being too violent, which he regrets.

I watched it on action here in the US, I don't think they cut
because you can see the shot coming out of his back. However,
it's weird he cut it because he's partner got shot the same
way in violent fashion.

In the UK video version from a while ago, there is a shot, prior to the one where the blast comes out of his back. The shot is a close up in profile of the blast entering the front of his jacket then exiting from the rear, and then cuts to the shot as seen in the movie.

The Japanese version of the movie is the same as the US version, with that small trimmed section missing as well.

Did the cop Zipper , kill Frank or just take the money from the shack?
thanks

reply

Zipper the cop just took the money because as he says, "it was just lying there". It was Willie (Elisha Cook Jr.) who killed Frank because he was jealous that his friend was spending more time dealing with the "kids" than him.
