My story!!!

I remember watching this in the early 80's and it scaring the heck out of me. A few days later, we went to stay at my grandparents for the weekend. They lived in the woods. The closet in the guest room scard me already. My dad left it open a little and it bothered me all night. About 3-4 in the morning, it started sprinkling. At that moment I swore the sound of the rain hitting the window was the footsteps of those little demons and I was terrified. I woke my dad up and told him that the little demons from the movie were running around the room and under the bed, he pointed out the sound as the rain and went back to sleep. I NEVER fell asleep that night. Fast forward to 2007. I watch this with my 8 year old son and 30 year old wife. She was creeped out a little and it had absolutely NO effect on him. I guess I was a punk.

LOL! This movie scared me too when I saw it as a kid. I think it did not affect your 8-year old because of the times; we saw the movie back in a much more innocent age. Kids nowdays will see this movie and think of how corny it is. With the stuff kids watch on the TV, in the movies and the video games they play, they have become desensitized. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.

I saw this movie when I was about 5 or 6. I only remembered a few parts from the movie...the part where there are 3 or 4 demons carrying the razor thru the bathroom...when the demons surround the old guy in the basement...and when they are dragging her at the end, and it gave me nightmares for a while. When I asked friends if they ever saw it,nobody had, and they thought I was making it up.

Years later I was at a party and overheard..."little demons with glowing heads...." and turned to see a girl trying to tell her friends about this movie, who are all looking at her like she had 9 heads. Turns out about 5 other people at the party had also seen it, and we all talked about how they experienced the same thing when asking their friends about it.

About 10 years ago, I went on a 6 hour quest to over 30 Blockbuster Videos and finally found it. I paid the lost tape fee, and now I have hard evidence that the movie actually does exist.

it's a bad thing... i'm a child of the 70's and i feel lucky to have been young and innocent in that times...

I've loved this movie since I first saw it in the late 70's or early 80's. I always wished there was a sequel because it had one of the best endings of any horror film I've ever seen. I'm sure the remake won't touch how good this is. But at least it's Guillermo making it. He'll make a good film, but remakes never really touch the original.
