suicide mission?


Echoing Yummy_Brains comment in the post ‘Why did he continue the hit?’, the thing I don’t quite understand: successful or no, the Jackal apparently was on a suicide mission, especially once he knew the authorities were after him and closing in. We never knew of his plan to escape, and he more or less spoke of such difficulties when he met with the conspirators. Even in such a precarious line of work, an assassin still has the basic human instinct for survival. Do we assume, consummate planner that he was, that the Jackal had an escape plan at the ready once he'd completed the assassination?
