The climax scene

This film was clever all the way, well researched and historically as accurate a fictional account can be, but I was a bit unsettled by how it ended!

1) how did Label smell there was a security man who had passed on an old man? Sheer coincidence?
2) Of course then he must have given the correct descriptions (The Jackal did not show his Danish passport to him) but how did they both know which apartment to look for him? My assumption is that its in the paper security guard saw which he managed to remember? What name did it carry? Duggan?

Anyone help me make this right, because that's my only issue with this remarkably well done film! :D

Just watched it. As reguards your first question: can't say. I think there are many things left unexplained. For example, all of sudden, they discover his fake identity (Charles Calthrop).
Your second question: Detective Lebel and the guard see a suspicious open window at the address from Jackal's fake documents.
His fake identity is Martin André.

Great film, though. I liked the way it alternates Jackal's preparations to the investigations.
